How this site works

An information service, not a clinic

Eyelid Surgery Guide is an independent information service. We write guides about eyelid surgery from NHS and regulator sources, and we pass enquiries to one named partner clinic per city.

Who runs this site?

Eyelid Surgery Guide (eyelidsurgeryguide.co.uk) is an independent publisher. We are not a clinic or hospital, we do not employ doctors or nurses, and nothing on this site is medical advice.

How do we make money?

Each city page can have one partner clinic. That clinic pays us a fixed monthly fee to advertise on the page and to receive enquiries sent from it. The fee does not change with the number of patients who go ahead with surgery, and we do not take any share of treatment fees.

Our guides are not for sale. Partner clinics do not write or approve them, and they are not mentioned in the guides’ content.

What happens when you send an enquiry?

  1. You choose your nearest city and tick the consent box.
  2. If that city has a partner clinic, we send your name, contact details, the procedure you’re interested in and your timeframe to that clinic only.
  3. The clinic contacts you to arrange a consultation. Any consultation, quote or treatment is between you and the clinic.
  4. If there is no partner for your city, your enquiry is not passed to anyone.

What we check, and what we don’t

Before a clinic becomes a partner we check that it is registered with the right regulator (the Care Quality Commission in England, Healthcare Improvement Scotland in Scotland) and that its operating surgeons are on the GMC register. We do not inspect clinics, assess surgical outcomes or recommend one surgeon over another. Please make your own checks too. Our guide to choosing a surgeon explains how.

How are the guides written?

Every factual claim links to the page we took it from, usually the NHS, an NHS commissioning body or a regulator. Prices are taken from clinics’ own published pages and dated. Where a page has not yet had an independent medical review, it says so under the heading.
